Durnford Medical Centre received the "Pride in Practice" Gold award in June '13 for inclusion of LGBTQ+ patients, the certificate is displayed on the reception desk.
Durnford Medical Centre was recognised as a "Veterans Friendly Practice" in May 2021 helping to support the needs of those who have served in the Armed Forces.
Access and Car Parking
Durnford Medical Centre is a modern practice, housed in purpose built premises on major bus routes and car parking within the surgery grounds.
Turn into the Boars Head Pub car park (W3W : vibe.swear.wool) then drive through to our car park beyond the hedge.
There is no charge to use the Durnford Medical Centre car park when visiting the medical centre, however there is a number plate recognision camera and users must enter their car registration number on the screen to the left of the reception desk to obtain an electronic "token" and avoid a parking charge. Durnford Medical Centre does not receive any money from this system.
Please note the Boars Head Pub operates a separate "Pay and Display" car park with their own number-plate recognision system. Use of our car park is free to anyone visiting the surgery and entering their car registration number on the screen in reception, however as we cannot guarantee the availability of parking spaces we recommend you bring a £1.00 coin in case you wish to use the Boars Head Pub pay and display car park rather than parking on local streets.
To help access to the building we provide automatic doors with touch-less and remote operation with level/ramp access to all areas. To assist those with additional needs there is a lowered section of the reception desk and a wheelchair/push-chair accessible toilet containing baby changing facilities.
A portable "Hearing Aid Loop System" is available on request for hearing aid users and a folding wheelchair can be provided to help those with limited mobility.
If you require a private space for breastfeeding please ask at reception.
